Mining Engineering (Mechanical)

$190,000 – $200,000 per year


Our client is an Australian-based metals and minerals producer with projects up and running in the Kimberley Region.

They are looking to employ a Mechanical Engineer to join their team at their process operations team. Reporting to the Superintendent Engineering, you will be responsible for managing various projects including new equipment and upgrades, as well as collaborating with the site maintenance and operations teams to provide engineering support to improve the reliability of equipment to meet operational targets, and deliver on their budgeted commitments.

To be considered, you must have:
  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Current WA C-Class driver’s licence
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in large scale heavy industry in an engineering and/or projects role
  • Demonstrated experience in mining, mineral processing, or manufacturing businesses
  • Experience in engineering design and improvements
  • Sound understanding of fixed plant assets, plant maintenance and reliability practices
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes
  • Excellent stakeholder negotiation and management skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to key stakeholders
  • Experience with commissioning and start-up of new plant and infrastructure
  • Experience in overseeing project/construction activities, including ITP’s, SAT’s, Punch Lists, commissioning stage certificates and handover documentation
  • Valid Australian working rights (without company sponsor)
  • SAP Maintenance Management system experience is desirable


The position is residential role with 4:3 roster. You will be provided with relocation/living, housing and roster allowances with variable quarterly bonus rates up to 20%. Transportation from and to the site will be provided as well.

This position is a hands-on role and presents the opportunity to join a unique and rapidly growing Company. The role is ideally permanent but this can be discussed (and adapted to suit the successful candidate).


Candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment tests, including drug and alcohol screening.  A valid police clearance must be provided


The successful candidate must be reliable, helpful and amicable. Team dynamics are imperative for a well-functioning unit.
